Theme Song - Abide by Aaron Williams

Weekend scriptures:
John 17:21-24 (NIV) - 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. 24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me, because you loved me before the creation of the world.

Galatians 2:20 (NIV) - 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

VISION STATEMENT FOR WWJ16

The Theme for WWJ16 is Holy Pursuit

The theme the Lord gave me for Walking with Jesus 16 is “Holy Pursuit”.

As I prayed, I have asked God what the focus of WWJ16 is. Is it God’s pursuit of us? Our pursuit of God? Our pursuit of Holiness? The answer is consistently Yes to all of the above.

1 John 4:9-10 says this:

“ In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

God pursues us - He sent His only son into the world. Jesus is the propitiation for all our sins, past, present, and future. and restores our relationship with the Father- SO THAT we might live through Him.

We pursue Christ. We surrender our lives, living by faith, walking in obedience to the will of our Lord.

Galatians 2:20

“ I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Luke 9:23-24

Jesus says “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

We pursue holiness.  As I prayed and studied, the word “Abide” kept coming up. As we abide in Christ, fully aligned with Him, we are reconciled with Him and with each other. As we live a life of holiness, we bring Him glory, and we see His glory.

The Scripture verse for the WWJ16 is Jesus’ final prayer for us, as he faced death on the cross and the resurrection that followed:

John 17:21-24

“…That they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one,  I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.”

The Theme Song for WWJ16 is ABIDE by Aaron Williams.

Our button design reflects Christ’s sacrifice with the cross and the crown of thorns, and our surrender and we lay down our crown at the foot of the cross.

I believe God desires that each woman, team and pilgrims, comes away from WWJ16 with a new understanding of what Holy Pursuit means in her life. I believe that this theme encapsulates the entire Walking with Jesus weekend – Priorities, Prevenient Grace, Justification, Sanctification and the quest for holiness, The Priesthood of All Believers, and Loving our World.

I ask for your prayers as the Cadre and I continue to prepare for the weekend. I ask each woman here to prayerfully consider joining us as we pursue Christ with all our hearts and prepare to serve the pilgrims of WWJ16. And I ask that each of you begin to seek out the women that God has called to be pilgrims this fall.

It is a blessing to serve shoulder to shoulder with you in this community and to share this journey of Holy Pursuit!
